WE ARE EXPERIENCED

The thing that fascinated me about this group of girls is that they are typical teenagers. They change best friends every second day. Vain and measures of themselves, they are much behave as if they are older than. They love fashion, mobile phones and boys.

Danielle Levitt, American photographer, was touring the United States in search of the ordinary/extraordinary, the vivid and the unusual, translating then everything into a book, a body of work unique in its genre, and the reult is “We Are Experienced”, published by Powerhouse.

Its images portray the adolescence, bold and turbulent beauty of the girls, cheerleaders and anorexics and also of youth subcultures such as punk, snowboarding and hip hop; she does this with great aesthetic potential, showing the elusive youth about each category.

Object of nostalgia and thoughts, Youth, once the target of deprecated, is now envied and coveted and most of all confined in a social thought.
